Quilt Dreams

March 15, 2025

We’ve been busy since we returned from our trip to the Amazon.

The renovations to our Historic Chestertown MD home are moving along. We’re hoping to be able to move in by the end of May.

So we are working to get our Afton home and vineyard ready for sale.  Lots of packing up and downsizing in our future.

Meanwhile, I’ve been able to sneak in a little quilting.

Pando

I finished a little project named Pando. I was inspired by a group of Aspens in Fishlake National Forest Utah of the same name. Scientists have proven that this large group of trees actually share the same DNA. They are one very large tree all connected below ground by the same root system. Sadly it’s dying, from drought brought on by climate change and air pollution.

Pando is on display now at the Chestertown River Arts Gallery on High Street in Chestertown, MD

I also got to go on a weekend quilt retreat with the Olde Kent Quilters.

I finished this top…made from a set of jelly roll strips with white. I love this pattern.

I put together some free form circle blocks begun at a Cindy Griselda workshop.

And these gold and black blocks were from a really old UFO. At one point they were going to become a quilted jacket, with a little luck that may still happen!
